Do Good and Share With Others
“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor — such is my idea of happiness.” ― Leo Tolstoy
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. – Hebrews 13:16
It has always been necessary for the people of the Christian faith to good and to share with others. During this time of fear, change, and uncertainty, it is important for the followers of Jesus to maintain this mindset. It is easy to forget what we are called to do when we are distracted and afraid for ourselves, our friends, and our family. Tolstoy reminds us of the power of serving others and loving our neighbor. Let us not forget to do good works and to share with others. That kind of sacrifice is pleasing to God.
Prayer: Almighty God, help us to remember to do good and share with those who are in need. Give us the desire to please you and to be kind and loving to others. Help us all to see the value of caring for those around us.
