I Will Fear No Evil
No matter what is happening in your relationships, fear nothing and no one. When you walk with the consciousness of the Creator, there is nothing to fear. Do not fear that people will harm you or leave you. Do not fear people who threaten you. Do not fear obstacles that confront you. Have no fear of harm to your body or possessions, you are walking with the strong arm of the law. Do not fear disapproval. Do not fear criticism. Do not fear judgment. Know that the only energy that has any power in your life is the gift of breath from God. Do not fear places. Do not fear darkness. Do not fear separation or divorce. Do not fear being alone. Do not fear being cast aside. When you walk with the Master, you are in the best company available. ― Iyanla Vanzant
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4
There are no more comforting words for me than “I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” Those words remind me that in every circumstance that I am in, I am not alone. The God of all creation is with me through every single trial and tribulation imaginable that I might face. I have had many dark days, but I can attest to the fact that God has been with me through all of it. There is no such thing as being utterly alone when God has promised to be with me in the deepest darkest valleys that I will face. I have no idea what today or tomorrow will bring. There is absolutely no certainty in what I may face. One of the things that God does promise to us is that he will not forsake me. He will not leave me. I am not alone in any circumstance. I am comforted by that promise and will fear no evil thanks to the presence of God in times of trouble and sorrow.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for never leaving me alone. Thank you for being a constant companion through the good and bad days. God, remind me of your presence. Help me to know you are there when I feel alone or afraid. Grant me eyes to see you when it is too dark for me to see you on our own. Amen.
